The Challenges
Castaneda at the Frisco (formerly called the Frisco Building) is an 11-story, architecturally significant historic building. Over its long history, the structure has faced significant wear and tear and seen water damage and erosion of the building envelope. Additionally, as a commercial office space, the building supports tenant space buildouts that sometimes require significant interior renovation. When we were first brought on board, the property manager was facing significant water damage and needed help working with their insurance company to finance the remediation.

We worked with the client and their insurance company to fully finance the water damage remediation. Then, we tackled the dilapidated basement and rusty, unused water tower attached to the building. We navigated the challenges of historic infrastructure to make the building functional and preserve key architectural features, such as repairing the original cornice on the roof.
We have provided ongoing renovation services for the Frisco Building, including small repairs, comprehensive tenant space improvements, and repainting and recarpeting the hallways and common rooms to help the owner attract new clients.
